This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps Kensington Cleaner has taken, and continues to take, to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking within our business operations and supply chains. We recognise our responsibility to act ethically and with integrity in all our relationships and to implement effective systems and controls to ensure modern slavery does not take place.
Kensington Cleaner has a clear zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking in all forms, including forced labour, servitude, debt bondage, child labour and exploitation. We are committed to upholding internationally recognised human rights and complying with all applicable legislation relating to modern slavery.
All directors, managers, employees, contractors and suppliers are expected to act in accordance with this policy. Any breach is treated as a serious matter that may result in disciplinary action, termination of engagement or contract, and, where appropriate, referral to relevant authorities.
Kensington Cleaner provides professional cleaning services. Our operations involve direct employment of staff and collaboration with a range of suppliers, including providers of cleaning products, equipment and support services. We acknowledge that risks of modern slavery can exist at various tiers of the supply chain, particularly where sourcing involves labour-intensive activities or lower-cost markets.
We seek to work only with suppliers who share our commitment to ethical conduct, fair treatment of workers and transparent labour practices.
We require our key suppliers to confirm that they do not engage in, support or tolerate any form of modern slavery or human trafficking. Our supplier standards include requirements relating to freely chosen employment, safe and hygienic working conditions, fair remuneration, working hours, non-discrimination and the prohibition of child labour.
Kensington Cleaner conducts proportionate due diligence on suppliers based on risk, taking into account the nature of the goods or services, the location of operations and the workforce profile. This may include requesting policies, declarations and supporting documentation that demonstrate compliance with modern slavery and human rights standards.
Where appropriate, we undertake supplier audits, which may be desk-based reviews or on-site assessments. If a supplier is unable or unwilling to meet our standards, we will seek to work with them to improve practices within a defined timeframe. Persistent or serious non-compliance may lead to suspension or termination of the business relationship.
Kensington Cleaner encourages a culture of openness and accountability. We are committed to ensuring that all workers, whether directly employed or engaged through our supply chain, feel able to raise concerns about modern slavery or unethical behaviour without fear of retaliation.
Concerns can be reported to line managers, senior management or via internal whistleblowing procedures. Reports may be made confidentially. All raised concerns are taken seriously and will be investigated promptly, with appropriate action taken where necessary. We will not tolerate victimisation of any person who raises a concern in good faith.
We aim to raise awareness of modern slavery risks among our staff, particularly those involved in recruitment, procurement and supplier management. Training and guidance are provided to help employees recognise indicators of exploitation and understand how to report suspicions appropriately.
Kensington Cleaner is committed to continuous improvement in identifying, preventing and addressing modern slavery risks. We monitor the effectiveness of our measures through regular review of supplier performance, internal reporting and feedback from workers.
This Modern Slavery Statement is reviewed at least annually by senior management to ensure it remains current, effective and aligned with legal requirements and best practice. Any necessary updates to our policies, procedures or control measures are implemented following this review.
This Statement has been approved by the leadership of Kensington Cleaner and represents our ongoing commitment to combating modern slavery in all its forms.
